What’s in a logo? In the case of Allmond Marine, it’s more than you might think. At first glance, it is reminiscent of a rotating surfacing propeller as it throws water off of it. But look a little closer: it’s made of sixteen sharp shards.
There’s meaning in the number sixteen: It’s of course eight multiplied by two. There’s sixteen valves in a pushrod V8 engine. There’s sixteen cylinders in a go-fast boat with twins.
If you look even deeper there’s more: measure the angle of those shards: each one is 9°. On a Chevy Big Block, the original 1966 design placed the intake valve at 26° and the exhaust valve at 17° – a 9° difference in valve angle (along with a 4° cant) that made the “mystery motor” the legendary engine that it is. That 9° angle forms the basic element of our logo.
Add the color of Bahamian waters, and you’ve got the “Ring of Sixteen”
